The Maremma is a very special place, a land to observe and savor. We think that the best way to follow it or bike, and so we offer a few routes of varying difficulty in the vicinity of our hotel.

Tour of Monte Argentario

ORBETELLO – Porto Ercole – PUNTA Avvoltore – PARKWAY – CALA GRANDE – PORTO SANTO STEFANO – ORBETELLO
Very spectacular route which is to explore one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline of the entire Tyrrhenian coast. From the point of view of elevation requires a certain commitment in developing continuous up and down if we exclude the first 7 miles and the last 10 km. As short, some parts are steep. To report a distance of approximately 3.5 km of gravel roads very bumpy which makes the route only suitable for all-terrain bike or mountain bike. The almost total absence of traffic between Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano and the extraordinary natural environment that always provides a view of the sea make this journey one of the most interesting destinations for bikers and biking tours.

Itinerary also suitable for families with children. Reasons of environmental interest are the Bolster Feniglia and the Laguna di Levante. The stretch in the Feniglia Bolster is ideal to go with children and lends itself to birdwatchers. The only difficulty is the uphill (about 2 km) from the promontory of Ansedonia to the roivine Cosa. If you want you can avoid this by making the detour route level and shortening of about 4.2 km. The stretch that runs along the beach on the lagoon Bolster has an irregular bottom (roots and sand), but also easily pedaled with a normal touring bike. Alternatively, you can follow the main highway that runs through the pine forest to the headquarters of the State Forestry Corps.

The Lower Valley dell’Albegna

Route sliding without significant slopes but characterized by a consistent mileage. Experienced and well-trained cyclists can choose this route to improve the bottom and ride smoothly. From a tourist point of view it passes through places of interest such as the Orbetello lagoon, the archaeological ruins of Cosa (Ansedonia), the WWF Oasis of Burano, the Tarot Garden and the villages of Capalbio and Magliano in Toscana.

Directions to the scope of cyclists without specific training. Do not you find it difficult altimetry and touching two points of interest: the WWF Oasis of Burano and the Tarot Garden. Weak point of the route is the graft on the SS1 Aurelia and 200 meters from the junction separating Ansedonia. This short section should be dealt with utmost care, keeping strictly to the right, perhaps waiting for a free moment from car; or walking on neighboring fields.

The hills of Marsiliana and Capalbio

Route without very great difficulty pedaled on roads of great landscape value. The only trait characterized by significant traffic consists of between 7 km and Sgrillozzo Borgo Marsili on SP 74.

Scent of Morellino

Route of great landscape value. The climb from Pereta in Scansano is easy to cycle and shady, therefore practicable without too much trouble even in the warm months.

Towards the Tarot Garden

Itinerary of short mileage without difficulty elevations; the ascent to Capalbio fact is pedaled and has no challenging slopes. Very nice from a landscape point of view. Recommended to visit the Tarot Garden. Refreshments in Borgo Carige.
